On May 2, the Central Asian University for the Study of the Environment and Climate Change (Green University) launched a national seminar within the framework of the projects "Climate Education to promote the SDGs and combat climate change" and "Eco-Schools Uzbekistan".

The event, organized by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, the International Public Foundation "Zamin", and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Uzbekistan, is dedicated to training teachers using the updated set of materials "Climate Box" in the educational process.

For information: "Climate Box" is an educational program and a set of materials of the same name on the topic of "climate change" for schoolchildren and young people. The program offers information about the problem of climate change, assignments, project ideas, and games, as well as recommendations and trainings for teachers on how to teach this relevant topic in the classroom and through extracurricular activities.

The seminar included a presentation of a set of materials called "Climate Box", an overview of the climate education of school-age children in the Republic, a presentation of a training module for teachers, and master classes on the application of project-based learning technology to climate change in the Republic. In addition, methodological recommendations were given for teachers on the use of the "Climate Box" in lessons and extracurricular activities based on the experiences of different countries.

The educational and methodological kit, developed by UNDP in 2014, offers new teaching methods on the topic of "climate change" at school, providing young people with opportunities to reflect on the problem, find possible ways to solve it, and take concrete actions to protect the planet and manage the effects of climate change. The materials are available in 13 languages at the link https://climate-box.com /.

It is planned that the "Climate Box" will be integrated into the school curricula of Uzbekistan and used in extracurricular and independent classes with school students. The materials are adapted for different age groups and cover both theoretical knowledge and practical aspects. They include recommendations for conducting experiments and developing/implementing climate projects aimed at applying the knowledge gained in real life.
