On April 30, an Eco Fest was organized on the territory of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant (TMZ) together with the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.

The event was organized in order to demonstrate the advantages of compliance with environmental standards in a modern industrial enterprise, share experience with specialists in this area, and strengthen cooperation in the future by following environmental principles.

"The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change pays great attention to the implementation of environmental standards in industrial enterprises. The purpose of the event is to study the plant's activities in this direction and exchange experience", - said Matnazar Elmurodov, adviser to the Minister of Ecology.

During the event, a tour of the enterprise was conducted, and achievements in the field of ecology were presented. An eco-fair of products made from recycled waste was also organized. It was emphasized that the efficient use of waste and the prevention of environmental pollution are priorities.

"Many people think of an industrial plant as an enterprise that emits substances harmful to nature. But this idea is erroneous, since industrial enterprises can operate without harm to the environment", said Sherzod Fozilov, deputy chief technologist of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant. "In particular, advanced technologies and automation of production processes have been introduced at our plant, which allows waste–free production, reducing environmental impact, and giving the plant the status of a "Green Enterprise", he added.

For information: Tashkent Metallurgical Plant is the largest producer of cold-rolled zinc and polymer-coated steel coils in Central Asia and is considered one of the most environmentally friendly enterprises in its industry.

Wastewater treatment equipment, as well as modern filters that control emissions into the environment, allow the company to not exceed permissible standards. This year, the company pays great attention to the environmental projects "Clean Energy" and "Clean Air", as well as the introduction of new technologies that reduce waste volumes during their implementation and disposal.

In addition, TMZ is actively involved in the nationwide “Yashil Makon”project. 12.5 thousand saplings of trees and shrubs were planted on the territory of the enterprise and the adjacent area. It is planned to plant 1,500 more seedlings this year.

Following the results of the event, the planting of tree seedlings was organized, a cultural and entertainment program was organized, as well as awarding the best employees of the enterprise who showed diligence in their work.
