On March 10 of this year, state inspectors of the Anabar district division of the Tashkent City Ecology Department and the Yangiabad Market administration conducted another raid.

The raid was carried out to prevent illegal trade in animals listed in the Red Book on the market. During the event, it turned out that citizen S.A. was selling a steppe eagle. By Article 90 of the AC, an administrative protocol was drawn up for the offender, and a fine of 5 BCV (1 million 700,000 sums) was imposed.

Currently, the eagle is receiving medical care at the Tashkent Zoo. After full recovery, the bird will be released into the wild.

For reference: the steppe eagle is included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the IUCN Red List, and Appendix II of CITES as a vulnerable, endangered species.
