As part of CMS COP14, a Champion Night award ceremony was held in Samarkand on February 12, honoring the new CMS champions who were awarded for their outstanding efforts and commitment to the global fight for the conservation of migratory species.

During the evening, Uzbekistan was awarded the honorary award "For its contribution to ensuring environmental connectivity for the period 2024-2026". The certificate of nomination for Uzbekistan was presented to Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov by CMS Executive Secretary Amy Fraenkel.
