Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov met with a delegation of the largest German tourism holding, headed by the Director for Turkey and the Middle East destination, Okai Yildirim.

The guests were introduced to the reforms in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan, including the diversification of tourist destinations, the liberalization of the visa regime, the development of transport logistics, and stimulating measures to support industry entities.

A. Abdukhakimov expressed appreciation for the interest in tourism in Uzbekistan and cooperation.

“Last year, we received about 30 thousand tourists from Germany. This year, the head of state set the goal of increasing the flow to 65 thousand. I am sure that through joint efforts we will be able to significantly increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan",- said the Minister.

In turn, O. Yildirim emphasized that Uzbekistan is an interesting tourist destination with huge potential for attracting more tourists from Europe.

During the meeting, the issues of opening new flights from the countries of Europe to the tourist cities of Uzbekistan, the demonstration of videos about tourism in the country on the German channels, cooperation in the field of sustainable development, and others were discussed.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to conduct joint PR campaigns, including through the organization of roadshows and B2B meetings, presentations of Uzbekistan's tourism potential, and the organization of press tours for leading media and bloggers to Uzbekistan.
