A number of measures are being implemented by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change to eliminate violations related to dumping waste in unspecified places and fight against environmental pollution.

In particular, the Central Department of Dispatching and Online Monitoring of the Ministry is installing online surveillance cameras throughout the country.

“In 2023, the Ministry of Environment installed video surveillance cameras in the Andijan, Namangan, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya, and Tashkent regions and the city of Tashkent, —  said Nazir Umarov, chief specialist of the Central Department of Dispatch and Online Monitoring of the ministry. — Currently, they are being installed in the Samarkand region and other regions of our republic”.

In 2023, a total of about 200 cameras were installed, 6,542 violations were detected, and fines were applied based on the relevant clauses of Article 91 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.

It should be noted that in the coming years, it is planned to increase the number of cameras to 1000. These cameras detect not only littering but also other types of law violations. This makes it possible to quickly eliminate environmental violations and take timely measures.
