The closing ceremony of the II International Sculpture Symposium "Tashkent-2023" took place in the Yangihayat district of Tashkent.
For information, the symposium was held from August 30th to September 30th of this year with the support of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The aim of the symposium on the theme of "Man and Nature, Climate Change, Preservation of green spaces, and the Restoration of the Aral Sea" is to educate the ecological culture of the population and preserve the environment objects and monuments of historical and cultural heritage.
The symposium also serves to deepen the ideas of ecology and environmental protection in the consciousness of the Uzbek people through sculptural art.
It is worth noting that the symposium was organized for the second time, with the first one taking place in Samarkand in August-September 2022. 7 foreign and 5 Uzbek sculptors took part in it. This year, 10 foreign and 11 Uzbek artists took part in the symposium.
Over the course of a month, Uzbek sculptors, together with artists from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Iran, Belarus, Georgia, India, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Russia, created unique examples of sculptural art.
As part of the symposium, master classes for young sculptors and creative meetings with foreign artists were also organized. In addition, foreign sculptors were taken on a visit to the city of Samarkand.
At the closing ceremony, the works of the sculptors were highly appreciated, and all participants were awarded certificates.
It should be noted that the 21 sculptures created by the artists and dedicated to ecology and environmental protection are planned to be installed on the premises of Green University. Additionally, the sculptures created during the symposium will be installed in parks, recreational areas, entertainment, and tourist centers in Tashkent, undoubtedly adding aesthetic beauty to the city and its architecture.
