On September 16, 2023, as part of World Cleanup Day, cleanup activities will begin throughout the republic.

On September 10, the Ministry of Ecology, together with the volunteer group "Pokiza insonlar" ("Clean People"), organized a campaign called "Toza shahrim" ("My Clean City"), during which 100 kg of household waste was collected.

“During the cleaning of the territory, we witnessed that despite the fact that there are enough trash bins installed on the territory, garbage is still dumped in the wrong place,” said Nizomjon Islamov, chief specialist of the Ministry of Ecology. “This means that it is necessary to further improve environmental culture among the population. This is also one of the main goals of the Months of Beautification,” the specialist added.

"In Tashkent, we have chosen areas with relatively large accumulations of waste and other environmental problems," said blogger Akida Khanum, coordinator of the volunteer group "Clean People." "As part of the "Months of Beautification", we are cleaning these areas of garbage and trees from various lighting and advertising banners. Our goal is to draw public attention to urgent environmental problems and further enhance environmental culture and responsibility," she added.

It should be noted that the volunteer group "Clean People" was created in 2019 to support improvement workers and raise the environmental culture of the population. The coordinator of the group, Akida Khanum, said that "clean people" refer to those who contribute to environmental cleanliness and improvement workers.

It should be noted that since the creation of the Ministry of Ecology, along with other environmental offenses, serious attention has been paid to eliminating cases of waste dumping in inappropriate places. In particular, 200 online monitoring cameras are being installed in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region. More than 1,000 such cameras are planned to be installed throughout the country. They allow for a 380-degree overview and timely detection of environmental offenses.

In addition, the UzPlogging eco-run is regularly held to promote the health of the local population and clean the environment of garbage and health.

Modern transportation vehicles for waste removal are also being delivered to all regions. In response to complaints from residents, the "musical method" of waste removal from residential areas has been launched.

It should be noted that regular raids are conducted throughout the country against illegal dumping. Violators are identified and held accountable under the law. It is particularly noteworthy that waste, especially plastic, does not decompose for a long time and causes significant harm to the environment.
