From 2024 to 2026, mobile stations for the transfer of solid household waste, as well as the reconstruction and construction of new landfills that meet modern requirements, will be created on existing landfills in the Jizzakh region.

On December 2, 2021, a joint memorandum was signed between the South Korean Institute of Environmental Industry and Technology (KEITI) and the Khokimiyat of Jizzakh region on the organization and development of the waste management industry in Jizzakh region in 2022-2026. Grants totaling $6.6 million and loans totaling $90 million have been allocated for the project.

According to the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan dated December 28, 2021 "On measures to further deepen the special strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea" No. PP-67, grant funds are being directed to the Jizzakh region. An exhaust gas collection unit with a capacity of 500 kW-1 MW will be installed at the landfill in Sharaf-Rashidov district, as well as an exhaust gas collection system that can be connected to a power plant with a capacity of 500 kW-1 MW.

In addition, a medical waste incineration unit with a capacity of 5-10 tons per day will be installed using these funds, as well as special equipment and other devices to strengthen the material and technical base of the landfill.

Credit funds in the amount of $90 million were allocated by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund of the Republic of Korea EDCF. This project document was reviewed by the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and submitted for consideration to the EDCF and KEITI Fund.

It is worth noting that within the framework of the project, three landfills for solid household waste will be built in Zaamin and Sharaf-Rashidov districts, which meet environmental and sanitary requirements, a composting and waste sorting complex will be created in five areas, as well as six landfills in Zarbdor, Arnasay, Pakhtakor, Mirzachul, Yangiabad and Bahmal districts.

In addition, to strengthen the material and technical base of the landfills, there are five special machines for compacting solid waste landfills, 12 special machines for transporting containers, 28 containers with a capacity of 60 cubic meters for the waste transfer station, 5 bulldozers, 5 excavators, 5 loaders, 5 dump trucks and equipment for composting.
