Today, in our country, within the framework of the national "Yashil Makon" project, in addition to planting trees, much attention is paid to the cultivation of cuttings. Since pre-planting is economically beneficial and effective.

There are the following important rules for preparing cuttings:

— pruning of annual poplar branches is carried out from the end of October to the beginning of November, before the beginning of the spring growing process;

— 20-25-centimeter cuttings are made from cut branches. Cuttings should be cut at an angle of 45 degrees with garden shears. This prevents them from rotting.;

— cuttings are planted in early spring in the same furrows as during autumn planting, and immediately watered;

— the distance between cuttings prepared in autumn should be 60–70 cm;

– poplar cuttings are planted at a distance of 20 centimeters from each other in an upright position. In this case, the shoots on the cuttings should be facing upwards, while one or two shoots on the cuttings should remain above the soil.

A fact!

From the planted cuttings in the spring of next year, poplar seedlings 1–1.5 meters high can be grown. Poplar grows from a planted seedling by 2-2.5 meters per year, by 6.5–7 meters in 3 years, by 10–12 meters in 5 years, and by 20–25 meters in 8 years.

On 10 acres with a distance between the furrows of 60 cm and between the cuttings of 20 cm, up to 8333 poplar seedlings can be grown, and on the same 10 acres with a distance between the furrows of 70 cm and between the cuttings of 20 cm, up to 7140 poplar seedlings can be grown.

It is worth noting that if 8333 seedlings are grown on 10 acres of land, and the average price of 1 seedling on the market is 3000 sums, then an average of 24 million sums can be obtained from 10 acres of land.
