The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, in cooperation with the World Bank, is implementing an innovative training program for qualified landfill operators. The launch of the program coincided with International Earth Day on April 22.

The first exercises were held in the cities of Karshi, Kashkadarya region, and Termez, Surkhandarya region. More than 40 participants from different regions of our country took part in each session.

Participants discussed topics such as landfill development strategies, principles of gas extraction and landfill management, landfill closure procedures, health and safety measures, and other important aspects of landfill operation, including methods of effective compaction and waste disposal.

The head of the World Bank Representative Office in Uzbekistan, Marco Mantovanelli, expressed satisfaction with this cooperation on his Twitter page.
