The delegation of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov, takes part in the opening ceremony of the 6th session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6), which takes place from February 26 to March 1 in Nairobi (Kenya).

UNEA-6 will focus on how multilateralism can help tackle the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss, pollution, and waste. Backed by strong science, political resolve, and engagement with society, the Assembly will be an opportunity for world governments, civil society groups, the scientific community, and the private sector to shape global environmental policy.

The program of the 5-day session includes plenary sessions, side events dedicated to human mobility in the face of climate change, environmental pollution, loss of biodiversity, etc., current issues, press conferences, and high-level dialogues.

During the event, Aziz Abdukhakimov will hold several meetings with participants of the Assembly aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of environmental protection and preventing the loss of biodiversity.
