The Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov visited the Fergana Zoo and got acquainted with its conditions and problems.

"We must create all the conditions for the animals in the zoo to grow up healthy," said A. Abdulkhakimov. "This, in turn, will contribute to the reproduction of rare and exotic animal species, as well as an increase in the number of tourists visiting the zoo."

During the inspection of the zoo, the minister noted that the areas were insufficient for accommodating new animals. He also mentioned that the distance between the enclosures of predatory and herbivorous animals was very close, which intensifies the feeling of fear and causes stress in herbivores.

To solve this problem, it was proposed to build new enclosures of larger size for predatory and herbivorous animals, taking into account the increase in their numbers. In addition, in order to breed rare and exotic animal species in the zoo, measures were taken to annex a 1-hectare plot of land located at the back of the park and belonging to JSC "Electrtarmokkurilish", as well as the territory of a drainage canal on the right side of the park.

In addition, the minister noted that a laboratory should be created in the Fergana Zoo to provide animals with high-quality feed.

For information: The Fergana Zoo was created on December 16, 2016. The total land area is 3.2 hectares, where you can see 105 species of animals and 274 birds.
