The Department of Ecology of the Navoi region, in cooperation with the non-profit organization “Emirates Center for Houbara Conservation", released 600 rare birds - Houbara bustards grown in the Center into the desert regions of the Uchkuduk and Kanimekh regions.

For reference: Houbara bustards are listed in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and the Red Book of Uzbekistan as being under threat of extinction.

Since the Center's inception, over 19,000 Houbara bustards have been released into the wild.
