The Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change conducts the nationwide "Clean Air" Month annually in two stages.

The event is organized to ensure the implementation of Articles 16, 17, and 28 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Protection of Atmospheric Air" and Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Environmental Control."

During Stage I (from April 10 to May 10) and Stage II (from August 10 to September 10) of the "Clean Air" Month in 2023, a total of 318,556 vehicles were subjected to environmental control. As a result, it was found that 8,652 vehicles, or 2.7% of the inspected vehicles, emitted harmful pollutants above the norm limit into the atmosphere.

Penalties totaling 553,153 million soums were imposed on 3,329 drivers of motor vehicles who grossly violated the established standards for pollutants, and the movement of 2,914 vehicles was temporarily suspended.

In 1,043 cases, or 2.2% of the inspected vehicles, emissions of pollutants above the established standards were detected, resulting in the vehicles being directed to auto repair shops.

It is worth noting that during the "Clean Air" Month, a total of 209,232 tons of pollutant emissions into the atmosphere were prevented. The main objective of the event is to prevent the release of harmful emissions into the atmosphere in excess of the norm by vehicles.
